Text Box Editor issue in Blackboard Discussion Boards
The text box editor used to post messages to class discussion boards does not work with Internet Explorer 7. When trying to post a message you will probably see something similar to the image below where the toolbar is visible but there is no where to type a message.

One solution to fixing this problem is disabling the Visual Text Editor in Personal Information under the Tools menu. The Tools menu is located on the My Institution page (your Blackboard homepage).
1. Click on Personal Information in the Tools menu.
2. Under Personal Information select Set Visual Text Box Editor Options.
3. Set the Visual Text Box Editor availability to 'Unavailable'. This option will turn on the Simple Text Editor mode. Then select 'Submit'.
4. Click 'OK'.
Now when you go back to the Discussion boards to post or reply to message you should see the following -
Alternatively students can install Mozilla Firefox as it is compatible with using the discussion boards.
